These are suitable for both the Mk2/2.5 and Mk3 models, and will fit into the standard speaker holder using the existing mounting holes. In order to acheive a perfect fit in the Mk2/2.5 however, we suggest two minor adaptions. The first is to remove the two "tags" on the edge of the speaker, and the second is to trim a small piece from the back of the plastic holder in the door. Please see the larger photos for more details. Also, should you wish to return your car to standard at any time, we advise when cutting the factory plug off the existing wiring, cut it a few centimetres back from the plug leaving you enough wiring to rejoin should you need to.
When fitting these to a Mk3, please note that on the drivers side speaker, the black/white wire is the positive, and the red/orange wire is negative, then on the passenger side the orange wire is the positive and the green wire is negative.
