In early 1998, Scimitar International was a small specialist workshop and mail order distributor for Reliant Scimitar Sports Cars. Now, we have the widest range and are the largest distributor of parts and accessories for the Mazda MX-5 and Eunos Roadster in the UK.

Our development started by chance, our founder, Val (he thought he was the boss) met a new partner, Jackie (who was the boss) and they formed a ready made family that included a 1993 Eunos Roadster! When the roadster needed a headlamp, Debbie (daughter No.1) headed straight to Val for help as the main dealer wanted £90.00+vat for a replacement. The light turned out to be the same as those used on later Scimitars and retailed for just £21.00. Debbie insisted that we should offer these on the internet to other Roadster owners and the very first 'mx5parts' web page was born. Within three months we were selling 30 lamps a week and it was time for some serious thinking.

The rest is plain to see! We launched the full mx5parts website in October 99 with a small catalogue of parts and a commitment to bring the UK and International MX-5 community the very best parts from around the world at competitive prices and with the best customer service. Our growth has been truly phenomenal (from 1999 through 2004 we achieved 100% growth year on year, each year), so it seems that we have delivered exactly what you have been looking for.

We became a limited company in 2001 but we still operate with the same family values as we have always done. In late 2007, Val decided he needed a rest (getting old) and handed the reins to Chris (the younger) Davidson, Chris comes from a Mazda main dealer background with many years experience in running the after sales departments at dealerships and he is determined to continue to deliver the highest levels of satisfaction to customers old and new. We are based in Portsmouth on the south coast of England. We have a retail showroom that you are welcome to come and visit, a workshop for fitting and servicing, oh, and we have just expanded our warehousing to six thousand four hundred square feet that is crammed to the rafters with the very best parts and accessories for all your Mazda MX-5's or Eunos Roadsters!

We are the sole UK distributors for the full range of products from 'IL Motorsport' in Germany, as well as being official distributors for the following companies: Koni Suspension, K&N Filters, Pipercross Filters, EBC Brakes, Magnecor Ignition, Brainstorm Products and HKS.

We source our products from all over the world to bring you the best in MX-5 parts and accessories. Our product line-up is expanding all the time and with the introduction of the Mk3 model in November 2005 and rumoured MPS version for 2008, this trend looks set to continue.

We prefer all orders to be placed on-line where possible. We do have a team of sales staff available any time 9.00am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday. All orders placed before 3.00pm any week day will be dispatched the same day (subject to stock availability) and should be delivered to your door within 1-2 days.
