Usually speedy delivery. Came with 3 versions of instructions, one in German with good photos, one from the manufacturer and one from MX-5 parts with not so good photos. For all that, it did involve a bit of head-scratching at first But don’t let that put you off, once you get the idea it’s a dawdle. You have to remove one of the torsion springs which acts against the left hand hinge. I got carried away and removed both, but easy to put back! After you have mounted the lifter on an existing mounting, all that is required is to drill a single hole on the LHS trunk lid support bracket. Not as bad as all this may sound, so don’t be put off, it’s worth the effort. That said, if you are not happy using spanners and drills, then maybe best to enlist the help of someone who is. Completed whole job in about 45mins.
Once fitted, it’s “the dogs-bollocks”, it’s great to approach that car with bags of shopping, click the zapper, and up comes the boot with a satisfying woosh! I keep looking for any excuse to open the boot, guess the novelty will wear off eventually…(will try and get a life soon!!!)
Well worth the money, an absolute must...
