Very impressive delivery time! Arrived the next day after ordering by phone late the previous afternoon. The quality of the rack itself is excellent, but it is not without problems. For the price of the kit, including the one allen key required would not of been an overly generous gesture. Like many mx-5 owners, I have a large arrange of tools to play with, but this should not be presumed as the case for all buyers. Also, the brackets for the rear of the boot were supplied as bent to the wrong angle. They were lovingly made and labbelled for position, but the acute angle they came in would leave the rack acting as a dramatic air brake! A little bending was all that was required. The instructions were also a bit vague in some areas. The three types of washer, (nylon, plastic, and metal) were not clearly differentiated, and only a bit of common sense will tell you were to put each one. The rubber protective strip is shown as being applied in two long strips, when in reality it is cut to fit the metal work. The dimensions of where to put the brackets on the boot lid were given as X and Y, to illustrate that they should be equidistant from the lights, but no actual figure is given, leading to trial and error. Not hard to to do at all, but easy to do if you have a tape measure and you're given the information to start with! Once fitted it really looks the part, and the only gripes occur during fitting, not after. Very useful indeed!
