After reading some of reviews, purchased the by-pass pipe. It proved to be a very good buy... The product is very well fabricated however a word to the wise... Make sure you order both gaskets when you by the pipe. The other thing is Bolts, you will need some bolts... The original fit Cat has studs that are fixed in place, fitting the pipes mean you will need four No10 Bolts of about 25mm in length with washers, spring washers and nuts. I did mine at home on the drive.. Get the car as high as you can.. The nuts on the old Cat where seized and I ended up using brute force to shear them off. That was the only trouble I had.. From start to finish the whole job took me about an hour.. The pipe has been fitted for around six months now and it has made a difference. The exhaust NOTE DOES change but for the better, however I found it has not made it any louder. At idle there is little difference and at motorway speeds there is little difference.. It is around the 20-40mph you notice it most.. When the engine is between 1500-2500 rpm the exhaust has a fantastic 'purrp' to it.. Like the old MGs and Sprites have.. It is very infectious sound, not obtrusive like a sports exhaust just a great sound.. Top buy.. If you have a car that does not need a Cat by law, you must fit one. Even my Dad thinks the exhaust note is great, and he is 65!!!!
