I replaced a straight though bypass pipe with this silenced one on a supercharged 1.6.
The main reason was to reduce a rasp at low revs, and also to reduce the sound in general.
The rasp (think tired old mini) which only happened on slow getaways has mostly gone. Its very much reduced at low revs (~1100) but continues at a very low level to higher revs (~2500).
The exhaust is quieter through out the whole rev range with very little power loss. I do miss the roar from 3000 rpm up, but I can now hear the supercharger spin up much more clearly.
I couldn't get the exhaust to seal using the seals included in the kit even after dressing the flanges thoroughly. Thermal paste soon sorted that though.
I would recommend this to anyone who has a straight through bypass pipe and wants a bit less noise.
