It took me just over an hour to install this tray and the arm rest after I deciphered the instructions (I would be happy to rewrite them in language that is easier to understand and provide pictures to go with them). I am very happy with the product; it fits well and makes a huge difference to the storage space offered in the NC. A bit of black carpet (I used an off-cut from a carpet tile) cut to the shape of the inside base of the tray also stops items rattling and sliding around in the tray. The finished product doesn't look like an add-on. A word of advice; when prying off plastic panels, use a wide flat paint-scraper or something similar to spread the distribution of force when levering the plastic bits. This will avoid damaging the visible plastic.
My only criticism of the whole thing concerns the wire joiners provided in the kit. There are better quality joiners available so take the time and find two replacements. The ones in the kit didn't take the pressure. Luckily I had a collection of better ones in the shed.
It's a pity that the sliding lid that comes with the storage tray is not optional when also purchasing the arm-rest. When the arm-rest is purchased (and I strongly recommend that you get this as well), the sliding lid becomes a throw-away item.
Overall, a great innovation and one that Mazda should have produced in the first place.
