The inside and outside edges were not hand finished as described but still the effect is good. Went ahead and fitted it as the edges are not that obvious when in place. Also fitted a new leather gear gaiter, which is best done at same time and the whole job took one hour.
You need to gently prise out the window switches unit at the front or back to get at the fifth console securing screw. Use a wide chisel blade etc not a narrow screwdriver otherwise you might damage the surrounding console area
Very straight forward although having drilled the two rear holes I had to cut a small amount of the corners of the locating tab on the underside of the plastic plate to fit the nuts.
Actually looks very good. For those of us '5ers' who don't want a complete chrome job this adds a nice finishing touch around the gearlever.
