I have the matching gearknob and so wanted to complete the look with the handbreak to. Initially the removing of the existing handbreak cover was a right pain in the ar** however I got there in the end with a little help from some tools I found laying around in my fiancée’s much loved tool box!
I managed to remove the original button and replace it with the new one no problem, however when I came to install the handbreak sleeve I realized I had not been provided with the tape. Spoke to a friendly chap in the shop and explained my predicament. I was provided with more than enough tape and could not wait to get home and finish my masterpiece.
Initially I was a little concerned as I placed 3 layers of tape randomly around the bare handbreak, it was tough to squeeze the chrome sleeve on but it does work believe me. The tape gathered a bit at the bottom but I managed to tear off the excess with my fingers. The finished result looks great but I won’t lie it does move a little but not enough to come off and I am hoping it will settle.
It is certainly a great looking product and so far very durable a must have to match your existing chrome interior or one of the great items to start with.
