As always, read all the reviews before fitting! At first, I simply could not get my old speakers out! Despite removing all the screws, it appears as if they were superglued to the doors! With some firm levering action, they finally came out. Secondly, I dismantled the old speakers' plastic connectors (cut through plastic) to release the speaker cables with connectors (check which is positive and negative first before doing this!). I managed to remove the old "waterproof" backing by soaking the old speakers in a saucepan of boiling water! The backings came off easily after that! I cut them down and refitted them to the new speakers to give them some limited "waterproof" protection (debatable!). Currently, I have only fitted the speakers using 2 screws (ran out of energy!) but will refit them by either drilling a third hole/using sticky tape if I notice problems. The sound is much better (also fitted headrest speakers) - and the price is good. I rate them as 4/5 simply as they are not a perfect fit for the MX5.
