98 Mk2 1.8s .. Excellent delivery. Simple fit if you -
1. Ignore Instructions if you've got a 1.8 which say this is for a 1.6 (no mention of 1.8) However , it is definately the correct part.
2. Remove the washer bottle (2 nuts & pulls out)
3. Heat Rubber ring in boiling water for 5 mins before fitting to MAS sensor (softens rubber / easier fit)
4. Don't do what I did & remove the connector from the temp sensor at the start of the process rather than removing the full assembly from the original air box. (you'll be left scratching your head thinking this is the wrong part for the car - a quick call to James at mx5 parts confirmed it was definately the correct part. Realised I had to removed the temp sensor probe from the air box & fit it to the connector before fitting the temp sensor probe assembly into the hole at the rear of the K@N filter.)
Sound is not too noticable under 3k , increases progressively up to 5k & between 5k & 7k is just what you want from this car. I've already got a single outlet , SS , MX5 parts rear box fitted & would recomment this combination as being sporty without being brash. My car seems to rev a bit more freely & is smoother on tickover. Would I buy again knowing what I know now ? YES ...
