BUYERS BEWARE...Ordered online and accepted by MX5 parts...phone call four days later to tell me it would be another £450 or so to deliver to me on the Isle of Mull. It could be delivered to Oban on the mainland and the ferry terminal for the £69 and a third party carrier [which I would arrange myself ] could bring it to me in Tobermory from Oban. I know this carrier and he would only charge me £15 to deliver from Oban to Mull so what was the problem with MX5 parts doing the same. On principal I cancelled the order, I will not be discriminated against because I live on an offshore island and will not be held to ransom in this way.
It\'s about time some internet sellers stop treating the offshore islands like third world countries and accept that delivery charges MUST be fair and equal to all of the UK.
I wonder if the charge to the Isle of Wight would be circa £450.
I feel badly let down by a company which I have previously held in high esteem and will no longer have any dealings with!
For the record I bought my MX5 as a new car online from a Mazda dealership in Ayrshire and they hand delivered it to me and drove away my part exchange vehicle for the online price..no quibbles no hassle. I have now ordered a new car from the same dealership and it\'s a coupe so MX5 parts can stuff their hard top. It\'s a buyers market these days and as a business man I wouldn\'t turn down a sale of £900.
MX5 parts haven\'t even had the courtesy to email me and tell me my bank card has been credited with the sale amount or even that they acknowledge the order cancellation.

Editors Note: Sorry to hear you feel let down by this issue. We would like to assure you that we do not in anyway discriminate against anyone because of where they live. Because of the sheer size and weight of a hardtop, they required a specialist courier with a two man lift. We at MX5 Parts clearly have no control over what they charge, however we do ensure they are delivered in the fastest and more importantly safest way possible. The fact is that delivery to offshore islands, including the Isle Of Wight, are more expensive to deliver to. We do state that the £69.95 delivery charge applies to the UK Mainland, and although perhaps not convienient to you, an offer to do that was made in your case. We would also like to assure you that a full refund was given immediately after you spoke to a member of the sales team.
