Another great idea from IL Motorsport. Here we have the perfect solution for intergrating your iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 or 4S into your Mk1!
The perfectly formed cradle replaces the centre console ash tray, holding the phone securely in the perfect position, and has a built in iPhone dock with an LED light underneath so you can find it in the dark! On the other end of the dock there is a 40cm extension lead enabling you to connect your iPhone to the audio option of your choice. (Adaptor leads not included).
Fits all Mk1 models, 1989>1998 (with a standard centre console).
Please Note: As shown in the photos, this will work with most protective covers still on the phone, however if the cover is too thick, the phone won't lie flat in the cradle. Also, being the responsible retailer that we are, we must advise that you do NOT use your phone whilst driving!
Fitting Tip: Once the ash tray is removed, simply route the attached wiring around the edge of the cradle and through the hole in the side of the centre console. The wiring for the LED can be connected into the OE wiring behind the ash tray so it only illuminates when the lights are on. The cradle then simply pushes into the centre console. Depending how you intent to connect the unit to the car (through the stereo, just through a charger etc) you may need to remove the centre console altogether in order to hide the wiring.
