The good points:
1. Delivery was great, next day
2. Really improves the look of the car
The not so good points
1. Quality - the weld on one of the studs holding the small Lockwood badge in place had failed leaving the badge slightly loose. The mesh grill is meant to be tack welded all the way round but had come adrift at the bottom. However these do not affect the appearance, so not really too bothered.
2. Fitting - I suppose that after reading all the reviews saying how easy it was , I should have expected something different.
No problems fitting the brackets (I still had the socket sets and car ramps from the days of doing my own maintenance). I don't know if there is any difference with my car being an imported Mk2 Roadster built in 2000, but I found the grill to be incredibly tight in the opening. Using the instructions (very clear) I was having trouble levering the top into the clips, even though I was starting to damage the rubber surround and getting worried about doing other damage to the nose cone. Gave up in the end, took the top clips off, re-drilled the holes (you need very sharp drills) to move the top of the grill about 10mm further forward in the opening. Easy after that and the grill is still nice and solidly fitted in the opening, without rattles.
Overall - looks great but may not be quite as easy to fit as you think (and you might need some plasters)
