My HT leads have been suspect for a while, but just recently there's been a bit of hesitation under heavy acceleration, so I decided the time had come to change them. I thought these were a tad expensive at over £50 and was tempted to go buy some Halfrauds crappy ones! However after reading the reviews on here and other places on t'interweb I decided that Magnecor ones were the way top go - the claims made by other manufacturers of leads is mostly bollox!
It was the usual incredible speedy delviery from MX Parts - I placed the order late on Bank holiday Monday and they were here at 10am Wednesday morning - now THAT'S quick! Thanks a lot chaps.
Fitting the leads was a doddle but note that if you do what I did and just rip them all off together you'll need (obvioulsy) to know the firing order to put the new ones on. I consulted my CD Rom (bought off e.bay) and connected up - car sounded like a bag of hammers. The CD Rom is for a 1.6 which has a different firing order - Doh! I Haven't got a Haynes book or similar so I had to go looking around interweb for correct 1.8 firing order - I am an idiot sometimes! Anyway, once found and connected the car now rums smoother than ever and performance is fully restored. I also fitted a new set of standard plugs at the same time. Was tempted to fit the long reach ones but decided Mazda probably know best and stuck with the standard ones!
