Best £30 I've ever spent on my Roadster. What a different this little piece of metal has made, it's stiffened the front up no end. There also appears to be less scuttle shake - but maybe that's my imagination because the handling is transformed. Dead easy to fit, took me about 30 mins, and didn't even have to jack the car or take any wheels off! In fact it's best if the bar is fitted with the car standing on all 4 wheels on level ground to avoid any slight chassis twist. Just make sure you have a slim 17mm open ended spanner to hand. I used a cranked one from an old BMW tool kit and it worked a treat. I also have a gen Mazda top brace as well so I don't know how this will work on it's own, but I imagine it would still make a considerable difference, don't know why Mazda didn't fit it as standard.
Despite what other reviewers say, the bar fits with the indent pointing down as in the "Brain Storm" instuctions.....It's seems more obvious to fit it the other way which is actually upside down, it's meant to be under tension for it to work properly, hence the spacer washers fitted between the bar and front subframe!
As usual excellent, speedy delivery from MX5 Parts - thanks guys (and gals) for the superb service once again - top marks, other sellers could learn a lot from you. Next I'm going to order a rear brace - wonder that will do?
