More about the brace in a second, but firstly... The items in my order arrived in a bag supplied by the courier. The MX5PARTS box fell apart in the post (for the SECOND time). Heavy mechanical parts can't be held in a box by one strip of normal sellotape!!
OK, the brace: I fitted this in addition to the existing front tower brace and rear sub-frame brace and to be honest I didn't expect it to make much difference, but it did...
Fitting took about 30 mins for this amateur mechanic and was fairly easy with the car up on stands. You do need a THIN spanner though, as it says in the online instructions, as it has to squeeze between two bits of suspension.
On the test drive there was a clear difference in feel. The front of the car felt much more solid on the road and turned into roundabouts much more sharply. It also makes the car slightly more comfortable by taking out some of the shake caused by road imperfections.
Overall, well worth £30. Do it. My advice would be that whatever braces you are missing (front lower, rear lower, and engine bay brace) buy them and fit them. It's cheap (ish), easy and makes a huge difference in handling without affecting comfort.
