I received the front and rear braces this morning (courtesy of a typically rapid delivery by MX5Parts)! I fitted them both in about 45 minutes (I am not particularly mechanically minded and, judging by the other reviews, both can be done in about 30 minutes).

I have a 1989 Roadster which was previously unbraced. The difference is utterly phenomenal: I feel like I have got a new car!

Whereas I previously got dreadful scuttle shake over poor surfaces in town and the whole car felt less than planted at speed, the car handles and rides beautifully now.

Around town there is negligible shake even on very bad surfaces. I can actually feel the dampers working now, rather than the chassis deflecting, and the ride is much, much better.

At speed the steering is firmer and more positive, the handling is exemplary, the ride is firm but supple and, while I used to get variable gearchange and clutch 'feel' because of the chassis' torsion, this no longer occurs.

I took the car for a 5 minute test drive that turned into an hour-long blast along A roads and I was extremely impressed by the way I could use all the power all the time.

So, four steps to motoring nirvana:

1) Buy these chassis braces
2) Either de-cat your exhaust or fit a filter charger system
3) Buy a windblocker
4) Load some chillout albums into the autochanger

... and just drive!!! Rating: 5 of 5 Stars! [5 of 5 Stars!]
