My fault for not reading the warning sticker on the sun visor about unzipping the rear window before folding down the roof! The subsequent damage left no choice but to replace the window, and this product provided the perfect answer as the rest of the roof was intact.
Installation is a tricky job as access to essential nuts is restricted- it could have been made easier if the seats were removed but if you're reasonably agile this shouldn't be necessary.
Once the zip stops are removed using long nose pliers (keep the stops safe as you'll need them later) the old window is easily removed by unbolting the three trim elements that hold the base of the hood in place. Position the new window, taking care that the waterproofing rubber strip stays flat while locating the bolts, reposition the metal trim elements and hand tighten the nuts in position. Fully tighten each with socket and extension arm (this is a slow process as ratchet handle movement is limited).
Feed window side of zip into zip puller starting on the right hand side facing the back of the car. Pull the zip shut and replace stoppers at each end.
The whole job took 2 hours at a leisurely pace, and the result is perfect. A great product- just need some great weather to go with it!
