This is better described as a "sender" rather than a switch, since it sends an analogue signal to the pre-1994 "real" oil pressure gauge. The cheaper post-94 item is just an on/off switch for the "hi-lo" gauge - now maybe you can see why Mazda changed it! It is straightforward to fit this sender and a pre-94 gauge (available from main dealers for about £50) to a post-94 car if you want a real gauge marked in bar or kg/cm2. The wiring is the same, just fit the sender and gauge in place of the original switch and gauge. The gauge is easy to fit but the sender is buried under the inlet manifold and is hard to reach.
