Thoroughly grease your shaft before sliding on the rubber: I couldn't work out how to get the new boot on, and was trying to dismantle the whole thing, but then logged onto here and saw the tip about greasing up the gearstick - did that and it slid on like a dream. Its such an essential tip its worth mx5parts.co.uk putting it on the invoice they send out.
