I have tried EBC pads on my racing mini and they weren't much good at all (scary heat-up delay) so I was going to buy Mintex for the MX5, but after reading the reviews on this site I opted to give EBC a second chance. Good points : Quick delivery by mx5parts, nice looking pads, very easy to fit (my first mx5 job and all done in under an hour), and best of all the pads bedded in very quickly due to the special quick-bed-in coating. Even after only about 10 miles the brakes were noticably better. I will change my front pads to Greenstuff too very soon. Bad points : No instructions, had to use Haynes, but that wasn't so bad, it was pretty obvious how to fit them. Pads do squeel a bit under hard braking despite using copper grease on the backs. But, the only real complaint is the dust level. They really do coat your alloys in thick black dust which is quite hard work washing off. I can live with this though, it is a small price to pay for decent brakes, and I'd recommend these pads to anyone with an MX5.
