First bar arrived quickly and well packed as always from MX5parts. Unfortunately one of the brackets was badly welded - it protruded and was at an angle. The bar was also a bit scratched. No problem with returning it - the usual MX5parts' excellent service.
The replacement seemed a lot better - the brackets were straight though one protruded very slightly - the excess was removed in a few minutes with a file because I wanted to fit it.
That was the easy bit, because the fitting holes did not match the geometry of the car - not much different but enough to be difficult, particularly when connecting to the seat belt towers - the bar is very stiff, and it was a real struggle to bend either it or the car so the fitting holes aligned and the bolts could be inserted. A strong screwdriver was a useful lever.
I needed to drill two holes through the bar to refit the windbreaker, because the bar's brackets covered the mounting holes I had used previously. The brackets' steel is tough - but that's not a bad thing. Three new drill bits later - and it looks fine.
Very pleased with the end result. Recommended as a buy, but be prepared to do some work to get it to fit.
