Arrived very promptly, and straight from the box, what a fantastic looking bit of kit. The end pipes look huge - not sure if they are too flash for me - have to see what it looks like fitted.

Fitting was a bit of a fight, mainly in removing the old one from the rubberhangers, as the mounting rods have a large end cap that must be forced through the rubber. Use washing up liquid and brute force is my tip. Two bolts hold the pipe on, and with a blast or two of WD40 and a bit of force, these came off reasonably easily (my car is a 1999). Then to fit the new one. This became a wrestling match, especially the rubber hanger nearest the pipe join. First fitting, and disappointed - one side quite a bit lower than other. By the way, I didn't cut out the back bumper until now, and used a sharp swiss army knife which was quite adequate to cut the fairly soft plastic. Having done this I then hung the low side a bit higher (with some difficulty) by using a higher hole on the mounting rubber. Enlarged the cutout in the bumper by steps to match the position, and it looks close enough to level that you would need a tape measure to know any different.

Immediate reaction is that the appearence is dramatically different, two great chrome howitzers sticking out the back, but after a week I have got used to it and like it. On the move, the sound is just great. If you want a huge amount of noise this is not for you, and is reasonably quiet on a light throttle. A motorway cruise is fine, no annoying boom. But ... put your foot down and there is a much meatier and sportier sound. Even at idle it sounds much deeper and more serious. I have a Pipercross Induction kit on the front, and with the two combined, there is a great temptation to floor the throttle a every opportunity just to indulge in the sound. As a result my mpg has gone down a bit at the moment. Not really any performance advantage. The Pipercross made a difference though, and as this was on first, I wasn't expecting much more than a nicer noise and appearance from the exhaust.

Highly recommended. Rating: 5 of 5 Stars! [5 of 5 Stars!]
