Posted on behalf of Euan Goold, he wrote this in reply to a fellow owner who was enquiring on one of the internet mailing lists.
1) Yes I have the one with an exit on either side. I remember receiving it
before I even had my new car & couldn't resist opening the box to see what
it looked like. The finish is excellent and the exhaust tips look perfect
not too big not too small.
2) I didn't fit the exhaust my self but handily I was in Driver's at the
time they were fitting the exhaust and the mechanic had the car up on ramps
and asked me about trimming the rear bumper. The rear bumper will need a
small notch cut out it using a dremel or similar. However if when you come
to sell your car and put the standard exhaust back on you will not be able
to see the small notch cut out for the dual exhaust unless you got down on
your hands and knees and look under the car. Thus I wouldn't be too
concerned about trimming the bumper.
3) If you are mechanically competent then you should have no problem fitting
it, I would have probably have fitted it my self if I had the time and the
car wasn't getting all the other work done at the same time.
4) I have to say no, I have not noticed any improvement in power, I don't
doubt there are a few extra BHP released as it is far less restrictive, but
I can't say I notice in day to day driving.
5) You will love it, with an induction kit and the exhaust fitted it will
sound amazing, trust me. It is difficult to say how much louder than stock
it is because when you are cruising on the motorway at 80-100 it sounds
marginally if not no louder than stock. However go for a blast in it and you
will have a grin from ear to ear, it will be a lot louder than stock and
sound like a proper sports car, think half a TVR V8.
I thoroughly recommend the IL motorsport exhaust on all aspects of cost,
quality, looks and sound.
