I had difficulty getting a pattern exhaust locally for my 1996 Mk1 (long cat), so I purchased this SS one from MX5Parts. Excellent delivery time - within 48 hours. My local garage fitted it for £20, including slightly adjusting the forward support bracket. It fits perfectly - no rattles or knocks. However, even after 500 miles it is far too loud. It sounds like a 'boy racer' in a souped up Peugeot 105! Anything above 2000rpm is too loud - and I canot hear the radio now! When funds permit, I'll probably try harder to get it replaced by a standard mild steel exhaust that is quieter. Why cannot MX5Parts produce a stainless steel exhaust that has the same 'muffling' effect as the original equipment?
