Genuine Mazda Part
Genuine Mazda replacement thermostat and cover. There are two types of these fitted to the Mk3, a long and a short type. The difference visually is very obvious, the short one is 65mm from the base to the top of the pipe, and the long type is 100mm from the base to the top of the pipe. Alternatively, if you are unable to see the thermostat (it is quite well buried in the engine bay!) here are the differences between chassis numbers -
Mk3 models, 2005>2008 Up to chassis number 115784 = (SI4803) Long Type
Mk3 models, 2005>2008 Between 115784 > 124658 = (SI4969) Short Type
Mk3 models, 2005>2008 From 124658 onwards = (SI4803) Long Type
All Mk3.5 Facelift models, 2008 on = (SI4803) Long Type
