An excellent product, delivered rapidly as usual. When fitting ensure that the face of the thermostat housing and cover are completely clean. In my case the old gasket was a complete nightmare to remove. I used a stanley knife blade to do this, and it did take about 30 mins of back breaking scraping to remove it all. It's virtually impossible when doing this not to get the odd scratch on the thermostat faces, you just need to try and avoid doing this where possible.
When refitting, as a precautionary measure I applied a very thin bead of instant gasket to both the thermostat housing, and cover. The Thermostat is inserted with the smaller valve facing the top, place the supplied gasket into position against the housing and finally install the thermostat cover and tighten up the nuts. I did this progressively, tightening each bolt a little at a time to ensure the housing was tightened up evenly against the housing.
Top up the coolant, run the engine and check for leaks. I was pleased that there were no leaks in my case.
