I'm quite impressed with this really.
Easy enough to fit. I read the destructions twice and then built up as much of the system as I could in the house prior to fitting. Removal of the old system and fitting this then only took a further 20 mins. I also didn't remove the MAF sensor wire as it was dark and I didn't want to disconnect the battery lead. Tool required are a philips and flat screwdriver, 10mm and 12mm sockets and a 10mm ring spanner. I also used a cable tie to ensure that the air temperature sensor lead wasn't left dangling.
It looks great and at idle makes a lot of hissing etc. When under normal load on the road test it seemed as normal however at above around 4,000 rpm on my Mk2.5 its like a Honda Vtec system with a roarty engine note when under acceleration. Far louder than I've experienced from an induction kit alone before.
Only point to mention (although not mx5 parts fault as they clearly state silver) is that K&N's website quote red, blue and polished. The silver is definitely that and not polished aluminium.
