I have just finished fitting this hood, and it looks pretty good, much better than the tatty original. I took on the job with some trepidation after reading other reviews. I decided to fit the hood in situ and followed the advice on the website www.miata.net/garage/top/index.html.
The job took about a day and I did it single handed. No special tools are required except perhaps a pop rivet gun. It was fiddly and time consuming, but much of the time was spent reading and interpreting the instructions! Engineering wise it was obvious and straightforward. I could do another one now in half the time. It would have been more comfortable to work by taking out the seats, but not essential if you bend a little. Tools required: small assortment of screwdrivers, 10mm socket and wrench, a pop rivet gun plus 8 rivets (cos the ones supplies are rubbish) viola!
