Agree with Nino. Better to hack the old hood off by cutting just above cockpit level. Makes it easier to remove pop fasteners at the front of the rain rail; there are two and they are difficult to get at. On the new hood the rivet holes were nowhere near the holes in the rain rail; the new hood does not have to be rivetted back on the rain rail anyway so I just taped up the holes. Like others I found corrosion on the frame (I had to weld this). The manual is not easy because it divides the job into sections; read right through all sections before starting and identify, label and side EVERY little part as its removed. Personally found the job quite tricky. New hood will be difficult to close so extend the latch adjustment fully, choose a sunny day and/or run the heater full on for 30 minutes. Take the opportunity to waxoyl all the rear compartments while you have the trim off.
