My battery was replaced during a service 6 months ago with a battery which appeared to fit....but it was the beginning of many problems! I noticed that at low revs, the audio would cut out (presumably due to not enough power output from battery). Then, disaster! During the cold spell in December, my car simply would not start - unless jump started. I worried about a starter motor, but I realised it must be the the battery at fault. Even worse, my garage (and MX5parts) was shut during the festive period. For two weeks, I was car-less. My garage were not helpful - "get an auto-electrician to look at your car, could be a power drain" etc. Finally, I ordered and fitted this Westco battery from mx5parts (arrived next day, but to wrong address!) and my car returned back to life! The battery came fully charged. I managed to get a refund from my garage and gave him a printout of the relevant web pages about this Westco battery. The morale of the story? It simply is not worth gambling on other batteries (even if your garage/mechanic/motor shop insists their battery will be fine) - do yourself a favour and order this Westco battery to protect yourself from having a similar experience to me! In fact, I still have to source replacement battery clamps etc. which were removed by the garage when the first battery was fitted.
