I would certainly agree...this little mod makes your MX5 sound like a real racer! Can't say that there is a lot of extra power there, I'd say quite a bit more torque in the midrange though. If anything the car now actually feels a little slower on acceleration in the midrange, but I know this is because the torque curve is now a lot flatter right the way from tickover to 4000 rpm, so there is now no point at which the engine picks up as there was before. If you are looking for cheap torque then this is a bargain! Does not feel like there is any more power at the top end though (severe downer, but I'm saving for a turbo kit!). The car does seem to use a bit more fuel now, but this might be because power slides are so much fun exiting roundabouts.
mx5 parts were efficient as usual, and timely.
I'd say get a garage to fit this unless you have the skills / equipment to free off 12yr old exhaust nuts...an oxyacetylene kit and some engineering knowledge helps, as does having a large, dry garage to swear in as the nuts refuse to move....!
Overall a good mod at a fairly cheap price.
Check out my pics of the car so far - most of the bits have come from mx5 parts, with the front hood air scoop mod being done by myself (there is now a LOT more cold air under the bonnet, with the temp being around ambient at the filter instead of 70 degres above as it was before). Air scoop feeds directly onto the k&N filter.

The site should be online on 3/1/2005
