Well well, what is all the fuss about?. I fitted these in 7 minutes and they look great. The answer is in all the other reviews and is as follows:-
Take a stout pair of pliers and apply vertical (not horizontal) pressure and crack the old slider knobs. They are probably so brittle that they will fall apart leaving the grub screw insitu. Take a long nose pair of pliers and undo the grub screw. Fit the new chrome knob and tighten wih the allen key. Repeat twice more. If you do not want to remove the face centre plate you can fit the lowest slider knob upside down and fill the allen key hole with a small blob of silver enable paint. Job done and without removal of the centre plate.
Get on with it in the time that I have written this you could have finished.
