First things first - my car is a JDM 2001 Mk2.5 1.8 RS.
As others have said, this slave cylinder quite clearly does NOT fit some cars properly. As I and others have found, the angle at which the pipe enters the slave cylinder is VERY different to the official mazda item and will not fit without CONSIDERABLE effort. If you didn't know, access to the slave cylinder is very poor which makes a very tough job even harder.
I managed to make mine fit after a couple of hours (of what should be a very straightforward task) however, the pipe is now under tension due to the incorrect angle of the thread, and I have resigned to accepting that I will have to revisit this job in the near future.
I know it is tough to swallow as the official Mazda item is over 4 times the price at 70 odd quid, but do yourself a favour and do NOT take a punt with this - in hindsight I would have gladly paid the extra.
