Just fitted my new K&N 57i induction kit. It took 4 days to arrive which is rather slow for MX5PARTS to deliver. They are normally pretty good on delivery. Fitting the actual induction kit took 45 minutes from opening the box to taking the car for a spin. Not much of a problem. Not impressed with the air feeder hose and trying to route it for maximum cold air intake. This hose having only plastic ties for support does not look impressive when opening the bonnet. My mates impreza has a 57i kit on it and looks more at home in the engine bay with better fitments and more secure looking. Where my mx5s new air filter is, there is a lot of warm air due to being next to the exhaust manifold so i made a heat shield to go around the filter in the hope of keeping some of the warm air from entering the filter. This i made from a piece of tin made from a large (catering size) bean tin. Saved on a few pounds and time will tell if it does the trick. Performance and noise have increased but not a great deal.
