The plinth is reasonable quality, but a slightly different design to the original one on my 1998 Mk2. It was a perfect fit, BUT only if fitted about an inch lower than the original. I didn\'t want to drill new holes in the nosecone of my car, so I used the bottom edge of the old plinth as a template and scored the bottom edge of the new one about a dozen times with a craft knife and was able to make a clean break. With the shape now the same as the old one, I was able to get an excellent fit. The screw holes are a few mm closer than the holes on the old one, and the supplied fittings are as much use as a chocolate teapot, but with careful insertion of a pair of 40mm screws (using the supplied inserts) it screwed on firmly. The rubbery trim strip only goes around the top and sides, but makes for a good fit and a decent finish. Overall, a good product at a very good price, but be prepared to spend some time tinkering to get good fitting. You will need decent fitting screws!
Editors Note: Thanks for your comments. The reason there may have been a slight difference between the one you took off and the one we supplied is that these were added to the cars by Mazda Europe at the point they were sold, and not by the factory. During that time they change the supplier and in turn the design slightly so the ones we supplied are based on one of these two versions. It does also account for why the holes sometimes don\'t line up as the were fitted at the dealership and any holes in the bumper were drilled by hand at that point.
