I have literally just finished fitting these speakers and just hoovered up the mess. I was concerned that they would be a nightmare to fit but they were the opposite. Simply un-zip the headrest, remove the old speakers, disconnect the exsisting wiring inside, cut away some of the foam (less than i expected) making sure to go right back to the metal spine in the seat. Then just connect the speaker wires and pop them in. A tip - bend in the mount bracket on the outside edge of the speaker when fitted otherwise the cover wont fit over the speaker. As other people have said, you really dont need to screw them in to anything as the speaker magnet latches onto the metal spine and the rest of the seat is jammed against it when you zip it back up.
As far as sound quality is concerned, they are a huge improvement and i would recommend replacing the door speakers at the same time to get the best effect. Very quick delivery from MX5 Parts in a big bundle of things for my NA MX-5. Will definatley buy from here again.
