Here comes some essential and hopefully valuable assembling tips:
The assemble is not difficult, but you have to be careful awoid cracking some "snapped plastic pieces" in yor car.
There's totally 5 screws that need to be removed to get the the whole plastic central cover placed over the transmission tunnel, which houses the cup holders and electric window buttons.
2 of the screws are placed under the bowl in front of the gear level. The next 1 screw is placed under the front cup holder. The remaining 2 screws are placed under the cover at the rear end of the central plastic central cover over the transmission tunnel.
I used a nylon knife (normally used for butter) to remove the front bowl and the rear cower. This is the best tool when you are going to remove plastic "snapped pieces" in a car. By using the nylon knife you avoid the get scratches in the plastic parts and even to crack the plastics in your car.
The gaiter is fitted with 4 screws from the underside plastic central cover. Don´t forget to mark the position of the seam when you disassembly the old plastic gaiter. I hade to make one new slit because there was one missing - in the new eather gaiter.
The leather quality and the fit was perfect and together with the handbrake gaiter it looks great. The question is only why Mazda didn´t use leather at the factory. The plastic gaiters looks not good, so therefore I highly recommend the leather gaiters which will increase the impression of the excellent quality in your MX 5. Rating: 5 of 5 Stars!
