Radio Cubby Box, MX5 Mk1

A nifty little product that dramatically improves the interior of your car. A little bit tricky to fit, especially trying to get the vents out to remove the centre console but it was ok. Just remember that this box fits on the back of the centre console with the 4 screws, not in the big gaping hole where the radio should fit (you'll find that the box is too small).

In short to fit as there are no instructions in the box :-(

1 Remove Gear Knob (unscrew)
2 Remove center console (5 screws two either side at the front, two in the center arm rest cubby and one under the ashtray), once the screws are removed carefully un plug ashtray light and electric window cables if you have them.
3 Unscrew screw* at the bottom of the centre dash unit.
4 Remove both eye ball vents (using a piece of flex threaded through the eyeball vents to pull the vents out rather than a screwdriver. You'll need to 'pre-bend' the wire a bit first to get it and back out the other side, so you have 2 ends to pull on)
5 Unscrew 2 screws at the top of where the eyeball vents were.
6 The center dash unit is now free from the rest of the dash, carefully unplug the pop-up/warning flasher wires and the stereo wires (if you can remove the stereo before doing any of these steps it makes it easier).
7 Remove the pop-up/warning flasher buttons and transfer over to the new center dash.
8 Steps 6-1 in reverse.

* May be 2 screws on some models

Good luck!
Another quality product from MX5parts. Despite it being £17.50, it is well worth it!
