This isn't the easiest of parts to replace. Removing the CAS is fairly straightforward. Make sure you note position of the CAS before removing it. Also note the position of the drive dogs as you pull the CAS out. Try not to disturb them too much. Replacing the 'O' ring was easy enough. However, putting the CAS back in was a nightmare. The first time I did this it took the best part of an hour. The second time about 30 seconds.
If you are considering replacing the cam cover gasket, then I'd do this 'O' ring at the same time. With the cam cover removed you can actually see that the drive dogs of the CAS are locating properly, making this an extremely quick procedure. Trying to do it 'blind' with the cam cover on is time consuming, and frustrating.
