I agree with earlier commentators that the grill looks great when it is fitted. I felt very smug at avoiding the punctured fingers and scratched paint experienced by others by putting electrical insulation tape all around the edges of the grill, and over the joint between the flat bracket and the main frame. This protected the car and I very well whilst getting the fit right etc. However, beware of complacency because I still managed three cuts and a punctured thumb during the final fit when the tape had been removed! I also found it helpful to raise the front of the MX5 some 4-6 inches by jacking it up using the car jack, one side at a time, and putting wooden blocks under the front wheels – as well as chocks under the rear wheels.
