Didn't fit my 1997 Mk1. After fitting, the horn no longer worked. Instructions very difficult to follow. Pity as I really did want the lovely leather steering wheel that this hub was supposed to enable the fitment of.

To fit to my 2.5: First get rid of the plastic ring at the bottom, prise off the metal contact ring to revael two screws. Then I had to saw out a chunk to make room for the horn connector etc, ensure the two holes either side of the centre are horisontal when you start sawing to align with the two plastic pins. I then snapped off the lip which runs aound the edge else it will foul on the clock spring. To stop the air bag light a resistor in the range of 1.8 to 4 ohm at least 0.25 volts is reuqired.

Arrived quickly as usual but had a nightmare fitting this to my mk2. The alignment of the holes for the indicator cancelling pins was out by 90 degrees and the horn contact ring jsut got int the way. Also the adapter pushed on too far and compressed/rubbed on the clock spring connector housing and cancelling pins too so I had to add a spacer. Ended up removing the horn contact ring so that I could unbolt the lower half of the adapter and rotate 90 deg to line up the cancelling pins. Then wired direct to the clock spring connector and had to add another wire for the earth. Not sure if this is really meant for a mk2 or not but that metal contact ring for the horn was useless, much better to wire the horn direct to the clock spring connector. Although there was a a bit of fiddling involved (pretty sure the alignment of the cancelling pins being out by 90 deg must have been a one off error by the manufacturer) it still does the job.

This kit required a modification as there was no earth for the horn. I had also just had a complete four wheel alignment done and after fitting the steering wheel was offset; the mark on the kit to indicate dead ahead is slightly misaligned - not a big deal but irritating.

Had the same problem with this as a couple of other reviewers. Horn ring failed to make contact with sprung pin in the column hence no horn sound. After not inconsiderable cursing I removed the adaptor and popped off the copper horn ring and spaced it off it's mounting with a couple of thicknesses of double sided tape. It's easy enough to get off if you prod it from behind where the horn contact wire passes through the adaptor. Comes off easy as it seemed to be loosely stuck on with pva! Reattach ring with added tape, reassemble adptor and wheel and life is good again! Oh, delivery was top notch next day as usual with MX-5 Parts!

It's a means to an end, a necessary evil. It makes my momo fit my car basically. I'd rather my momo just...fit without the extra cost of this adaptor but there we go. Now I have a proper steering wheel do I regret shelling out, do I B******s

Poor paint finish but who cares? It's covered up by a rubber boot after installation. Installation is about 100 times easier than getting the old wheel/boss combo off! Does the job perfectly, so earns a full five stars.

Delivery Information - MX5 Parts

We understand that its really important for you to receive your goods in a timely fashion and for a competitive price. To ensure that we can deliver this we have developed a strategic partnership with both the Royal Mail and our courier partner, Think Worldwide.

At the present time, we only offer one delivery option ‘our carrier’. We will dispatch your goods with the most suitable carrier, for main land UK deliveries this is normally Royal Mail 1st class for packages weighing under 1.5kg and Think Worldwide for those that are over.

Our delivery charges are based on the weight of the consignment and the destination address. For UK mainland deliveries they start at £1.97 for a package weighing under 300g and rise to a MAXIMUM of £9.95 for a package weighing 1.5kg or over (EXCEPT very large bulky items that have an additional shipping surcharge added). The exact delivery cost will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Delivery times are estimated at 1-3 working days by Royal Mail, and 1-2 working days by Think Worldwide for mainland UK addresses. If you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, we will dispatch the same day. If you order after 3pm, we will try to dispatch the same day, but if we cant it will be the next working day. Items ordered after 3pm Friday or over a weekend will be dispatched Monday. Items dispatched on Friday are for delivery the following week. Items ordered over a Bank Holiday will be dispatched the next working day. MX5parts is constantly updated to keep pace with changes in our stock but demand is high and we occasionally run out of popular items. If we have run out of stock and can’t dispatch your order the next working day, we’ll email or phone you with a revised dispatch date. You can then either accept the revised dispatch date or cancel the order, as you wish. Please note, shipping times are an estimate, and can not be guaranteed. Please note that during special offer periods, dispatch of your order may be delayed slightly due to high a volume of orders.

A signature is required for ALL orders delivered by Think Worldwide. Someone must be at your delivery address to sign for your parcel between 8am and 6pm on a working day. Please send it somewhere it can be reliably signed for, like your place of work, a neighbour, or perhaps your grans. We can (but we don’t like to) ask the courier to leave your parcel without a signature. If we do this, it will be YOUR responsibility if the parcel is lost or damaged. If you want it left, you need to give us your express instructions in the ‘additional information’ box at the end of the checkout process. It would be helpful if you could also indicate exactly where the package should be left.

If you need to change your delivery address, for any packages that have been dispatched with Think Worldwide, there will be an additional charge of £9.95 if the package has already been dispatched.

Please remember, even with Royal Mail deliveries, that any items which are too large to fit through your letter box will need someone to be available to receive the delivery. If the item cannot be delivered, you will be carded and given the option of either a re-delivery or you can collect your parcel from your local post office depot.

Orders sent to countries outside the UK will be sent VAT free, however please note that on all international shipments, the recipient is responsible for any local VAT, import duty and other clearance fees that may be charged.
