Which Mazda MX5 model have you got? We make no distinction between the MX5 and the Eunos Roadster. We know they are the same car! Mk1 models were built between 1989 & 1998 and all have "pop up" headlights. Mk2 models ran from 1998 to 2000 and are easily identified as having "fixed" headlamps. The Mk2 was face lifted in 2000, and soon became known as the Mk2.5. This too had "fixed" headlamps, but benefited from the addition of fog lamps in the lower part of the front bumper. The Mk2.5 ceased production in 2005, making way for the Mk3. Available with a 1.8 or 2.0 litre engine, the Mk3 continued the trend of the MX5 being the worlds best selling sports car, and with the introduction of the Mk3.5 facelift in 2009, that trend is set to continue. In February 2011, Mazda Japan announced that the 900,000 MX5 had rolled off the production line, making it a world record breaker for the third time in its history.
