The Great Mk1 Giveaway Free Prize Draw 2022

Welcome to 'The Great Mk1 Giveaway' - the project where we bought ourselves a tidy little Mk1, added a load of great new parts and asked for your help to add some more before giving you the chance to win it in our free prize draw!

We went with a Mk1, on the basis it’s the iconic MX5 for many people and increasingly in-demand for its modern classic status. This example is a 1992, UK-market MX5 1.6-litre and is typical of the kind of cars you’ll find advertised at the moment. Amazing to think, but this is now a 30-year-old car and over that time will have passed through a number of owners, many of whom will have made their mark on it in one way or another. Now it’s our turn!

But to decide what parts we added, we asked for your help by casting votes on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Terms & Conditions

1. By entering into this free prize draw, all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions.
2. This free prize draw is open to all, except for employees of Scimitar International Limited (MX5parts), Palm Automotive Ltd (Vanstyle) or Car Shades Holdings Limited (Car Shades), their families, agencies or any other company directly connected with the administration of this promotion.
3. Entry to the prize draw has to be done via the mx5parts.co.uk website and will now run until 23:59 (GMT) on 30/06/2022. (This is an extension from the original date of 31st May 2022) Only one entry per person is permissible.
4. By entering the prize draw you are consenting to allow MX5parts to send you relevant marketing communication in relation to The Social Restoration project and relevant offers and promotions as it is deemed you have an interest in MX5s. You will have the ability to opt out at any time.
5. If you haven't previously registered your details with us, upon entering the free prize draw you will receive an email from 'Scimitar International Limited (t/a MX5parts)' to confirm it is you that has entered. This is a legitimate email and needs to be accepted in order to enter the free prize draw. Therefore, please check your spam or junk folders if this is the first time you have registered your details with us and the email doesn't arrive.
6. The first prize will be a Mazda MX5 Mk1 registration J808 SWL and has a valid MOT until 10^th November 2022 and has a tracked service history. The winner will be liable for road tax and insurance once the ownership has been transferred and completed. The vehicle will be delivered to a UK mainland address of the winner’s choosing. If the winner has an address outside of mainland UK they will be liable for collection of the vehicle from the MX5parts head office 1 Orion Court, 5 Rodney Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO4 8SZ, UK at no cost to MX5parts. Second prize will be a pair of tickets to the 750 Motor Club TEGIWA Club Enduro Championship on the 21st August 2022 at Silverstone and third prize will be a pair of tickets for the 8th October at Oulton Park.
7. No cash alternative will be offered for any prize or any further modifications or parts added to the vehicle once the draw has been completed.
8. The decision of MX5parts is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The winners will be selected at random after the 30/06/2022 from all participants who have submitted an entry via the mx5parts.co.uk website. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the draw. Should there be no response to this email within 72 hours or should the email be returned as undeliverable for any reason, including but not limited to an invalid email address, MX5parts reserves the right to disqualify that entry and select an alternative winner.
10. The winners will be required to have press photos of receiving the prize from mx5parts that will be used on all mx5parts social media channels and mx5parts.co.uk. No royalties will be paid. Any publicity will also include the winner’s first name.
11. Entrants must be over the age of 18 at the time of participation to enter the free prize draw competition.
12. Once ownership of the vehicle has been transferred to the winner mx5parts shall accept no further liability for the car or any passengers travelling in the car that may result in injury or death.
13. Any personal data relating to the competition entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent.
14. No warranty or guarantee is given by MX5parts in relation to the first prize car and shall accept no further responsibility once ownership of the vehicle is transferred. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MX5parts its agents, associated companies, and trading partners will not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, additional expenses, injury or death howsoever caused, whether in contract, tort (including without limitation negligence, fraud or malicious act), statutory or otherwise arising out of the prize draw or in connection with the acceptance of these terms and conditions.
15. MX5parts reserves the right to vary, cancel or modify the prize draw and/or the terms and conditions at any time and for whatever reason and/or amend or withdraw the prize draw (and/or any related prize) in whole or in part at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. MX5parts is also entitled to vary the prize if, due to unforeseen circumstances it becomes impossible to provide the prize as described or in its opinion, it would be inappropriate in any way. In that event, an alternative prize of equal or greater value will be offered.
16. MX5parts at its sole discretion and at any time has the right to remove a participant from the prize draw if it has reasonable cause to believe that the participant has acted or is acting fraudulently, illegally or in an unauthorised manner.
17. This prize draw is governed by English law. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
