Quality Aftermarket Replacement Clutch Slave Cylinder

These are made in Europe to OEM standards. The slave cylinder can be rebuilt, but the cost is hardly justified when a great quality replacement can be yours for such a low price.

The clutch slave cylinder should be located behind the driver side wheel. Remove the two bolts, the clutch line and the slave cylinder should come off to the right side. The slave cylinder actuates the clutch arm by use of hydraulic pressure. They do wear over time due to their age and repeated use. The first sign of problems is a vague clutch, followed by some leaking around the seals and eventually total failure. If you start to loose pedal pressure on clutch operation, the most likely cause is loss of fluid from the Clutch Slave Cylinder. Dirt works its way into the cylinder and causes scratches and grooves which lead to fluid leak or air getting in.

If your clutch is not as crisp as it used to be, why not replace it or keep one in the garage just in case. These are new, not rebuilt slave cylinders. We have sold a large volume of these with great success and great reviews.

Bought one of these back in May of 2019 as my previously one decided to give up the ghost after what I can only presume was 25 odd years. Fitting this was quite straight forward, but unfortunately as others have said these fail so easily. Barely done 3000 miles for different reasons since fitting and this has now given up too! Might have to buy the official OEM one to replace it as I'm not sure I can trust this part again. Might buy one to keep in the boot as an emergency replacement but other than that I'd avoid

If you like to change slave cylinder every year! Then buy this. What a waste of money. The rubber part is already completely disintegrated.

I've replaced the original slave cylinder about two years ago for this one, it's leaking from the big hole in the rubber boot (so, again). The rubber is very cheap on this part, so I'd recommend buying this and keeping the main body, but with the OEM seal kit they sell on this site. It will probably hold up the same time of the OEM with half the price of it

Rubbish, the barrel for the hard-line is at the wrong angle. After hours of fighting it I still couldn't get it to bolt back in and reattach the hard-line. Just buy a kit to rebuild the original or get the OEM one and save yourself the hassle of this like of junk

A total waste of time and money, I've fitted two of these aftermarket cylinders in the past year and both have failed within 6 months! Very poor quality they are low cost for a reason.

Sorry to state, but I follow in ranks of those who bought and found it to fail early, 4 months to be exact. Internal rubber seals x2 failed, perished.

Excellent delivery as per usual, one day. Bought his unit to put some positive pressure back into the clutch operation and I am not disapoionted. Fitting was spot on if somewhat ackward with limited clearence available. Poured a little brake fluid into and via the pipeline connection to lubricate the seal before operation. Fitted the main fluid pipeline finger tight prior to fitting the slave unit, made life a lot easier with the limited space. Careful with the top bolt its not square onto but slightly pointing downwards and could be cross threaded if not aware. Fitted, bled and working all within an hour. Why pay top dollar or replace the seals when this is value for money. Time will tell as to its integrity, but for the moment I am very happy with the purchase and the service of MX5 Parts.

Went for the aftermarket version due to price difference and because I only over about 5000 miles a year. Plenty of online videos showing how to fit and the only tip I would add is to make sure you have a proper brake pipe spanner to avoid rounding off the nut connecting the pipe to the old unit. Fitted fine and so far works well

Our delivery charges are based on the weight of the consignment and the destination address. For UK mainland deliveries they start at £1.97 for a package weighing under 300g and rise to a MAXIMUM of £9.95 for a package weighing 1.5kg or over (EXCEPT very large bulky items that have an additional shipping surcharge added). The exact delivery cost will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Delivery times are estimated at 1-3 working days by Royal Mail, and 1-2 working days by Think Worldwide for mainland UK addresses. If you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, we will dispatch the same day. If you order after 3pm, we will try to dispatch the same day, but if we cant it will be the next working day. Items ordered after 3pm Friday or over a weekend will be dispatched Monday. Items dispatched on Friday are for delivery the following week. Items ordered over a Bank Holiday will be dispatched the next working day. MX5parts is constantly updated to keep pace with changes in our stock but demand is high and we occasionally run out of popular items. If we have run out of stock and can’t dispatch your order the next working day, we’ll email or phone you with a revised dispatch date. A signature is required for ALL orders delivered by Think Worldwide. Someone must be at your delivery address to sign for your parcel between 8am and 6pm on a working day. Please send it somewhere it can be reliably signed for, like your place of work, a neighbour, or perhaps your grans. We can (but we don’t like to) ask the courier to leave your parcel without a signature. If we do this, it will be YOUR responsibility if the parcel is lost or damaged. If you want it left, you need to give us your express instructions in the ‘additional information’ box at the end of the checkout process. It would be helpful if you could also indicate exactly where the package should be left.

If you need to change your delivery address, for any packages that have been dispatched with Think Worldwide, there will be an additional charge of £9.95 if the package has already been dispatched.

Please remember, even with Royal Mail deliveries, that any items which are too large to fit through your letter box will need someone to be available to receive the delivery. If the item cannot be delivered, you will be carded and given the option of either a re-delivery or you can collect your parcel from your local post office depot.

Orders sent to countries outside the UK will be sent VAT free, however please note that on all international shipments, the recipient is responsible for any local VAT, import duty and other clearance fees that may be charged.
