A true plug-and-play device, it fits neatly into the central air vent on your dashboard without the need for any drilling, cutting or other intrusive alterations. You even maintain full functionality from the vent, the only sacrifice being you can't direct the air as you can with the standard one.
That's a small price to pay for the range of information the gauge offers though, its simple interface giving you a huge range of useful information taken straight from the OBD2 port and available at the touch of a button. For Mk4 owners with tuned cars, those who drive a lot on track or even racers this is really useful stuff, the simple digital display giving you at a glance readouts for coolant temperature, throttle position, battery voltage, air/fuel ratio, intake temperature, exhaust temperature and inlet pressure with peak value recall at the press of a button. It also reads fault codes and displays them on start-up, warning you of anything nasty and letting you clear them if required.
So much for the serious stuff - the gauge also has some fun features like an automatic 0-60mph timer and real speed indicator, plus engine revs and shift light function. And, best of all, it is fully integrated into the interior of the car without the need for extra gauge pods or other untidy additions. A genuinely useful tool for those tweaking their MX5 as well as a bit of fun, the P3 OBD gauge is a fantastic product we're really fired up by.
