I would love to tell you how good or bad this kit is but the instructions are so unclear then even after trying to follow them I cut my intake pipe and it did not fit back on (Yes I saw that others were saying its hard to do so but I was at it for a good 30 minutes) So now i'll have to get a new intake pipe and im also down the nearly ú100 for this kit that doesn't fit correctly. My suggestion is saving a bit to get a better kit.

After reading the reviews I was amazed by the VERY Clear instructions, very easy to follow, fitted in 90 minutes and I'm no mechanic. The oil shown in the picture isn't included but the foam filter is pre oiled anyway. The AFM is held firmly and the only tricky part was getting the pipe on to the AFM after I'd cut through it, needed a good bit of effort to get it over the AFM outlet. No noticeable increase in noise or performance but it looks nice and I'm sure the engine is breathing easier now.Very good service from Mx5 parts of course.

Great bit of kit, took about 2hrs to complete... i did not use all of the bolts supplied, used the original bolts from the removal of the old air box... 125rmp less @ 70mph, better throttle response, made the SS exhaust sound better, not as loud, just better... :-)

Recieved pipercross this afternoon and had already prepped the car for it. Fitted it in 30 mins. Instructions are not that great. Plus it does not come with the oil spray. That said I am smiling. Car sounds amazing. A proper roar!!!! This has got to be a must for all mk1's......

Arrived in the normal quick time. However, as others have said the instructions were dreadful and if I wasn't in the industry, then I would have been fighting it for a long time. As it were, it still took a long time to fit as my instructions didn't come with any pictures despite the text referring to pictures so that was bad. Additionally, it didn't come with any oil spray for the cone as pictured, so I emailed about this and have yet to get a reply; another negative. Some of the stated fittings were missing so I had to use an equivalent that I had lurking in my garage, this isn't going well is it!Despite all that, after some 2 and a half hours of trying to work out where everything went, I had installed it to my 1990 Eunos and it looks good and sounds good too. It's not too loud that you sound like some boy racer and it's not quiet enough to be disappointed. I think the price is a little steep for what you get though.

Kit arrived with only one white plastic washer even though the instructions wanted me to fit two so assume one was missing. The picture for the product shows a filter spray to apply before use which was not supplied in kit, nor does it say anywhere that it was included. This should be changed as soon as possible. I would have purchased the spray at the same time if I knew it wasn't included, now I have to pay for postage again.I feel I was mislead to believe it was bolt on instead of having to cut my existing air pipe and it still overshoots the heatshield. Overall: OK product. Sounds a little gruntier from 3-4k. Delivery time acceptable.

Kit and instructions are designed for a pre 94 mx5 1.6. Needed some modifications to fit my 90bhp 1997 mx5 but I got there in the end (4 hours later). When fitted according to the instructions, the AFM and cone are too high up to clear the heat shield, and the AFM lead is not long enough to connect back up. Cut a notch out of the bottom on the heat shield and drilled 2 new holes so that it sits about 2 inches further back towards the bulkhead also angled it very slightly towards the centre of the car at the front ( only about 10mm to avoid getting too near to the manifold ). Next removed the standard bracket attached to the strut turret and mounted it backwards - this has the effect of moving the stud back by 2 inches so it still lines up with the hole in the heatshield to which you attach the support stay. Also on the same standard bracket I hacksawed off the stud that points upwards, and replaced it with a bolt that points downwards. The combined effect of this is that you can now mount the AFM/Cone underneath the bracket (using a couple of nuts as spacers as necessary) AND it'll sit 2 inches further back - so lines up perfectly inside the heatshield. The support bar to the AFM/Cone needs to be shortened to suit. In this position, the AFM lead now reaches fine and I didn't have to cut so much off the clean air pipe at the front of the AFM (perhaps just an inch - there was a ridge on the inside of mine that I cut along and that was perfect). Just to firms things up - I realised that with a small tweak the bracket that supported the old inlet tract could be adapted to support the front of the AFM. Removed the L-bracket from the front of the AFM (where it bolted to the old airbox) and mounted it backwards - This then can line up with the hole in the end of the inlet track bracket (bend it a little in a vice). Whole assembly is now rock solid. A lot of faffing, but the end result is worthwhile. Car now sounds great as you accelerate up above 3000rpm - a nice throaty roar. Now sounds like it always should have. MX5 parts should NOT really advertise this as fitting 89-98 cars as I guess it only fits 89-94 cars without modification. If you have a bit of intuition and can be bothered - then you can adapt it to fit later cars, but then maybe you have better things to do with 4 hours ?

Purchased pipercross induction kit for my MK1 and arrived in usual quick time.Fitted it on my own over a two day period.first day after not being sure of diabolical instructions, and could not make pictures line up with requirements, slept on it and came back and finished it inside an hour.I could go on about the usual failure of instruction data from most of this companies products, but with some common sense you can sort it out.Product great, looks good, and a sense of satisfaction with improved mid range noise better than any sound track. No complaints except the instructions.

Ordered yesterday and arrived today at 12:45Good quality (remember, you're also paying for the filtration development - so don't go buying the ebay £10 ones or you'll be letting all sorts of rubbish into your intake) Instructions aren't great, but once you've read them a couple of times, it's an easy job - took about 45 minutes.I didn't bother taking the connector of the AFM as it was just as simple to fit it all in place. As others have said, heat the AFM end of the tube in hot water for a while - otherwise you'll pull your hair out trying to get it on.Definitely feels like it's more responsive, and in my view worth every penny. Can't say I noticed much difference in the induction noise, but that's because I can't hear it over the exhaust!

Delivery Information - MX5 Parts

We understand that its really important for you to receive your goods in a timely fashion and for a competitive price. To ensure that we can deliver this we have developed a strategic partnership with both the Royal Mail and our courier partner, Think Worldwide.

At the present time, we only offer one delivery option ‘our carrier’. We will dispatch your goods with the most suitable carrier, for main land UK deliveries this is normally Royal Mail 1st class for packages weighing under 2kg and Think Worldwide for those that are over.

Our delivery charges are based on the weight of the consignment and the destination address. For UK mainland deliveries they start at £2.95 for a package weighing under 200g and rise to a MAXIMUM of £9.95 for a package weighing 2kg or over (EXCEPT very large bulky items that have an additional shipping surcharge added). The exact delivery cost will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Delivery times are estimated at 1-3 working days by Royal Mail, and 1-2 working days by Think Worldwide for mainland UK addresses. If you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, we will dispatch the same day. If you order after 3pm, we will try to dispatch the same day, but if we cant it will be the next working day. Items ordered after 3pm Friday or over a weekend will be dispatched Monday. Items dispatched on Friday are for delivery the following week. Items ordered over a Bank Holiday will be dispatched the next working day. MX5parts is constantly updated to keep pace with changes in our stock but demand is high and we occasionally run out of popular items. If we have run out of stock and can’t dispatch your order the next working day, we’ll email or phone you with a revised dispatch date. You can then either accept the revised dispatch date or cancel the order, as you wish. Please note, shipping times are an estimate, and can not be guaranteed. Please note that during special offer periods, dispatch of your order may be delayed slightly due to high a volume of orders.

A signature is required for ALL orders delivered by Think Worldwide. Someone must be at your delivery address to sign for your parcel between 8am and 6pm on a working day. Please send it somewhere it can be reliably signed for, like your place of work, a neighbour, or perhaps your grans. We can (but we don’t like to) ask the courier to leave your parcel without a signature. If we do this, it will be YOUR responsibility if the parcel is lost or damaged. If you want it left, you need to give us your express instructions in the ‘additional information’ box at the end of the checkout process. It would be helpful if you could also indicate exactly where the package should be left.

If you need to change your delivery address, for any packages that have been dispatched with Think Worldwide, there will be an additional charge of £9.95 if the package has already been dispatched.

Please remember, even with Royal Mail deliveries, that any items which are too large to fit through your letter box will need someone to be available to receive the delivery. If the item cannot be delivered, you will be carded and given the option of either a re-delivery or you can collect your parcel from your local post office depot.

Orders sent to countries outside the UK will be sent VAT free, however please note that on all international shipments, the recipient is responsible for any local VAT, import duty and other clearance fees that may be charged.

Our Guarantee - MX5 Parts

We guarantee that you’ll be satisfied with mx5parts!

We are an independant, family company, run by a dedicated team. We aim to be the kind of company that we’d like to deal with if we were you. You have our absolute commitment as fellow MX-5 owners, car nuts, internet users and hard-working people that you’ll be satisfied with mx5parts. If you’re not, let us know and we’ll sort it out!

We guarantee “always fair prices”

MX5parts maintains an everyday savings pricing policy. We watch other retailers closely and maintain competitive pricing. The internet being the beast it is means that any Tom, Dick or Henrietta can set up a website in their back room and charge bargain basement/off the back of a lorry (guv) prices. Often they will have no stock, no returns policy, questionable security, no guarantees and of course poor customer service. MX5parts strives to be open and honest, so we will never inflate our prices to set up an artificial ‘sale’ (a common – and illegal – retail practice).

It is inevitable in an open market like the internet that there will be some individuals selling some items cheaper than we do, and some selling them for more than we do, just as in the high street. We take great pride in offering a fast, efficient, friendly and secure shopping experience, with great products at fair prices. We encourage our customers to shop around, but are very pleased to welcome them back again and again.

We guarantee to despatch your order when we say we will

If you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday and we have your items in stock , we’ll despatch the same day . If you order after 3pm, we’ll still try to despatch that day but, if we can’t, we’ll despatch the following day. Items ordered after 3pm Friday or over a weekend will be despatched Monday. Items despatched on Friday are for delivery the following week. Items ordered over a Bank Holiday will be despatched the next working day. MX5parts is constantly updated to keep pace with changes in our stock but demand is high and we occasionally run out of popular items. If we have run out of stock and can’t despatch your order the next working day, we’ll email or phone you with a revised despatch date. You can then either accept the revised dispatch date or cancel the order, as you wish. Please note that during special offer periods, dispatch of your order may be delayed slightly due to high a volume of orders.

We guarantee to replace any goods which aren’t suitable

We guarantee to accept back any goods that you do not want, are not suitable, have changed your mind about, infact, for ANY reason, provided the goods reach us within 30 days of dispatch from us, in their original condition and packaging. Please tell us why you are returning the items, just for our records. The original purchase price of the goods will be refunded on to the card that was used for their purchase. Sorry, but we can not refund the carriage costs.

We guarantee to sort out any problem with your order

Just contact us if you have any problems with an order from mx5parts. We’ll tell you exactly what steps we’re going to take to rectify the problem.

We guarantee full warranty support on all items

Just contact us if you have a warranty problem. All goods supplied by mx5parts are from official sources and are covered by the normal manufacturers warranty.

We guarantee that we will only charge your credit/switch card when your goods are dispatched

This is your right under UK law and, if we do anything else, it’s illegal!

(Please note: This doesn’t apply however if you have chosen to pay via PayPal. Due to the way PayPal works, you are effectively sending the money to us rather than us asking for it so in this instance we will have received payment at the time the order was placed and not when it is ready for dispatch).

We guarantee that we won’t pass your email details on to anyone else

Absolutely not. All your details are treated as strictly confidential. We’re internet users, too, and we know how annoying unsolicited email can be. We wouldn’t risk annoying you by being the cause of it.

We guarantee that shopping with us is safe

Our website uses the very latest secure server hardware and software, and is certified secure by COMODOs hackerguardian facility ensuring we are continuously PCI DSS Compliant.
