Well, went to fit the caliper today, went to test piston adjustment. felt very rough and "wrong" piston wound out but will not wind in at faulty out of the box, sending back for a full refund, very disappointed.

Not fitted yet but seems much better quality than my last "reconditioned ones" grease and washers are now included. Whole caliper looks like brand new. Lets hope it functions as such. 1 star removed as i think listing should state washers are included (as i ordered 2 ) and there is no return label or any mention of how to return, i get not including a prepaid but a simple return label would help.

International customers, do NOT buy this item.The return shipping is not included in the price, and carriers that accept private customers will typically charge upwards of 30 GBP to ship a caliper to the UK. The Swedish/Danish Postal Service (PostNord) charges 330 SEK for the return shipping.I will just throw away the old caliper and consider the 35 GBP surcharge forfeited, but if I had known this before I would have bought a new unit instead, or one supplied by a local dealer.

Drove down and had one of these fitted to my Mk1 by Sean, the in house mechanic. Old one had to be cut off, Sean did a great job for an extremely reasonable cost. Driving down also saved me the hassle of sending back the old calliper. Highly recommended.

Having purchased in December 2012 to replace a 'sticking' Caliper, am a little disappointed that now (May 2014) I am needing to order a replacement as the Caliper no longer self adjusts for the handbrake (which has of course caused an MOT failure). Following adjustment it slackens off again every two or so months. However, I may just have a dodgy one.In all honesty I don't believe the refurbished Caliper ever properly worked correctly (with respect to self adjustment). Whereas the original caliper on the offside is working fine despite being nigh on 15 years old now.If it weren't for the GBP35.00 refund upon return of original, it would be far more cost effective to buy the aftermarket version.Can't criticise the delivery time of the original and hope the replacement is also received in good time.

I bought one of these in August 2012 and had it professionally fitted. When I put the car in for its pre-MOT inspection I was told that it would fail because of the leaking brake caliper. I\'m afraid that it has turned out to be a totally false economy. The car has only done a few thousand miles since the caliper was fitted and now I\'ll have to fork out for a repair/replacement.Editors Note: Sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with this item. All our parts carry a full one year warranty from the date of purchase which this is still covered by so a member of the sales team will be in touch shortly to arrange a replacement or refund.

Great value!My local Mazda dealer asked 250 euros for brake calliper and with a total of 155 euros you can't beat the price. According to my local garage the the calliper was very easy to fit and of a good quality.The reason of 4 stars? There is no explanation on how to send the old brake calliper back. I am a bit disappointed in the customer service of MX5 Parts as I only received very short answers back and had to ask the same question two times in order to get a good response.

Surprisingly easy to fit if you follow Rod Grainger's Book (available on this site) and an effective way to sort an old seizing caliper. Would advise you to order the banjo washers to go with it and probably a new caliper slider pin as well if replacing an old set.

Please note everyone the reconditioned rear caliper does NOT come with the handbreak cable bracket attached.Don't make the same mistake I made and leave the bracket on the units you hand in for exchange-cost me a long train journey !!.

Delivery Information - MX5 Parts

We understand that its really important for you to receive your goods in a timely fashion and for a competitive price. To ensure that we can deliver this we have developed a strategic partnership with both the Royal Mail and our courier partner, Think Worldwide.

At the present time, we only offer one delivery option ‘our carrier’. We will dispatch your goods with the most suitable carrier, for main land UK deliveries this is normally Royal Mail 1st class for packages weighing under 2kg and Think Worldwide for those that are over.

Our delivery charges are based on the weight of the consignment and the destination address. For UK mainland deliveries they start at £2.95 for a package weighing under 200g and rise to a MAXIMUM of £9.95 for a package weighing 2kg or over (EXCEPT very large bulky items that have an additional shipping surcharge added). The exact delivery cost will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Delivery times are estimated at 1-3 working days by Royal Mail, and 1-2 working days by Think Worldwide for mainland UK addresses. If you order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, we will dispatch the same day. If you order after 3pm, we will try to dispatch the same day, but if we cant it will be the next working day. Items ordered after 3pm Friday or over a weekend will be dispatched Monday. Items dispatched on Friday are for delivery the following week. Items ordered over a Bank Holiday will be dispatched the next working day. MX5parts is constantly updated to keep pace with changes in our stock but demand is high and we occasionally run out of popular items. If we have run out of stock and can’t dispatch your order the next working day, we’ll email or phone you with a revised dispatch date. You can then either accept the revised dispatch date or cancel the order, as you wish. Please note, shipping times are an estimate, and can not be guaranteed. Please note that during special offer periods, dispatch of your order may be delayed slightly due to high a volume of orders.

A signature is required for ALL orders delivered by Think Worldwide. Someone must be at your delivery address to sign for your parcel between 8am and 6pm on a working day. Please send it somewhere it can be reliably signed for, like your place of work, a neighbour, or perhaps your grans. We can (but we don’t like to) ask the courier to leave your parcel without a signature. If we do this, it will be YOUR responsibility if the parcel is lost or damaged. If you want it left, you need to give us your express instructions in the ‘additional information’ box at the end of the checkout process. It would be helpful if you could also indicate exactly where the package should be left.

If you need to change your delivery address, for any packages that have been dispatched with Think Worldwide, there will be an additional charge of £9.95 if the package has already been dispatched.

Please remember, even with Royal Mail deliveries, that any items which are too large to fit through your letter box will need someone to be available to receive the delivery. If the item cannot be delivered, you will be carded and given the option of either a re-delivery or you can collect your parcel from your local post office depot.

Orders sent to countries outside the UK will be sent VAT free, however please note that on all international shipments, the recipient is responsible for any local VAT, import duty and other clearance fees that may be charged.
